Starleigh K. Smith


Starleigh K. Smith is passionate about helping families navigate the family law process with as little drama and trauma as possible. She works with clients to identify relevant legal issues that must be addressed while providing compassionate and calm guidance through the court process.


Starleigh began her legal career as an Assistant State Attorney in Jacksonville, FL where she prosecuted misdemeanor and felony crimes. During her time as a prosecutor, she tried numerous cases in front of a jury and engaged in all other aspects of the litigations process such as negotiation with opposing counsel, taking/defending depositions, and arguing in motion hearing.


Since transitioning to civil law, Starleigh’s primary focus has been on family law. She has handled many different types of family law cases including divorces with and without children, high net worth cases, division of businesses, divorces involving prior acts of domestic violence, protection orders, minor guardianships, parenting plan and child support modifications, step-parent adoption, and involuntary termination of parental rights, and more. Her litigation experience helps her to understand how to help clients through all aspects of a case from inception to final judgement.
